Featuring cutting-edge movement, spoken word, and experimental theatrics, this quartet of highly innovative performance projects show us what’s next for local live performance. Gather in the beautiful Studio B at Global Education Center to experience all four form-busting creations, including: an interdisciplinary collaboration between poets and writers Amy Bell & Patriq James with movement artist Brandon Johnson, an abstract dance-based work from choreographers Delaine Dobbs & Sandy Perez, a hilarious queering of the classic Nutcracker from dancer Chris Strauss, and a highly theatrical piece exploring trans femininity from performance-maker Clover Tipton. Using vivid language and choreography, each artist bends the rules of live performance – and even breaks all of our initial expectations of where each performance will go.
